All classes will be paid monthly on the first Sunday of every
month. Can I please stress that all fees must be paid on time or
the student will not be able to continue with their classes.
Please check the notice board regularly which will highlight when the
fees are due. It is extremely difficult for us when we are very
busy, to chase Parents / Guardians for overdue fees.
New pupils can pay weekly for a trial period of 3 weeks and then the balance for the rest of term will be due.
PRIVATE LESSONS

Speak to Maria for more details.
(Please note that all private lessons are booked in advance and at
least 48 hours notice is required for cancellation, or the full lesson
will still require paying).
The policy states that the school will not give any refunds for classes missed. So:
Other:
There are a number of reasons why we require monthly payment:
The main reasons for monthly fees are to make sure that your child
receives the maximum amount of time being taught instead of loosing
valuable teaching time collecting weekly fees. Also, we feel that
dancing is a fun and social activity but also one that requires a large
element of commitment from both the teachers and the students. By
missing classes and only attending infrequently the student will not be
able to reach their full potential and may act as a negative
distraction to the regular participants.
Classes
Parents can only attend the first lesson with there child, following that, parents will not be able to sit in on the dance classes (With smaller children a parent in the room could be very distracting, making the child want to run to the parent instead of performing at their best). So that parents can see their child perform their work we have a watching week usually before there exams where family and friends are invited to come and watch their child’s class.
General Terms and Conditions
Parents should be aware that due to the nature of dance performance it
is necessary for the BTDA teachers to use some physical contact when
working with the pupils. e.g. holding hands; putting a knee or foot
into the correct position to avoid possible injury etc.
If children require to go to the toilet during lessons, we let all
new children know where the toilets are and that they are free to leave
a class at any time. Children can be put under great stress thinking
they can't go. If a child leaves a class for an unnatural length of
time we discreetly enquire if they are alright.
Pupils may on occasions be photographed or filmed during class and
performances. By taking part in our school activities you are
agreeing to this happening and are happy to have your child’s
photograph on the secure section of our website and press releases
unless you have otherwise informed the school in writing. Major school
shows will be recorded onto DVDs, you are welcome to opt in or out of
school shows without obligation. The DVD's will only be
distributed to people associated with Maria’s Dancing Footsteps.
For legal reasons we must have your written consent.
The school is only responsible for students while in classes.
All students’ property is their responsibility. The
school is not liable for any lost or damaged belongings, and therefore
pupils should not bring anything of value to the dance school.
Fees are charged monthly and are not discounted or refunded for
missed lessons. You may take up to 5 days holiday in a year without
being charged for classes but following this we do not give refunds for
holiday periods. We must be notified of holiday days prior to absence.
Pupils must be dressed in the correct uniform for each class and
must conduct themselves in a disciplined manner while on the school
premises. This will ensure safety and well being of all the
schools pupils.
The school will not tolerate any form of anti-social behaviour. Any
child found bullying or being excessively badly behaved will be asked
to leave the school.
No food or drink is to be brought to classes other than bottled
water. That includes no chewing gum. Dancers require plenty
of water, to maintain a level of hydration and therefore reduce the
likelihood of injury.
